Carolina girl, best in the world!

Life is going good here on the eastern side of the USA!! All the leaves are starting to fall so the beautiful colors are going with them :( It was too short! Fall is always too short. Sister Brown and I did a lot of service this week. It was such a good time! We serve at this cute little library every Wednesday and helped make these crafty broomsticks out of Tootsie Pops. Halloween is coming up fast. And then Thanksgiving and then CHRISTMAS! Y'all know how I love Christmas :) Anyway. We also helped out at this huge yard for a charity program called COA, it was a dream! I forgot how much I love yard sales. The other volunteers there were so nice and COA said they would love to have our help for more functions. That's what I'm talking about! Friday night we went and visited the Wright's neighbors with Sister Wright and had a wonderful lesson with Susan and Nancy. They're sisters I think. We'll be seeing them again :) Yesterday Sister Brown and I taught the lesson in Relief Society about missionary work. We were really nervous about it because neither of us like to get up in front of people, but it ended up being really good. There was a lot of participation and discussion, so that was great!

This past week I've really loved reading old General Conference talks. They are like precious pieces of gold on your mission! Well of course they always are, but I never appreciated them enough before. I rediscovered President Uchtdorf's talk "Forget Me Not" and I love it! I really recommend it.

I love all of you so much. No matter how many times I say that, it'll never be enough. I'm praying for all of you constantly and know that my prayers and your prayers are being heard. I'm so glad to hear that South Carolina was so much fun! Carolina girl, best in the world :) That was random, but I'm gonna keep it anyway. Hope everyone has another great week!

WITH ALL MY LOVE,
Sister Brown

October is HERE!

First off, General Conference?! It was the best! Dad, you'd be so proud, I took notes and didn't even fall asleep :) I paid attention a lot more than I usually do haha. We got to watch it at the church with the rest of our district. Of course I loved all of the talks about members and missionaries working together! It's such an exciting time to be a missionary. Aside from those, Elder Uchtdorf's and Elder Holland's really touched my heart. They have so much emotion and I love it. I can't wait to be able to study the talks more throughout the next six months.

On to other things, we were finally able to meet with Georgie and Artie this last week! They are doing pretty well although so many of their loved ones have died recently. Artie has told us that she wants to share the gospel with one of her friends, Sister Brown and I are very excited for her and her desire to share what she has learned. Anne Marie has been sick all week so we were not able to visit with her :( Along with Daisy as well. She came to church a couple weeks ago and said she hasn't been feeling well ever since. Sister Brown and I have tried going over to her house, but no one ever answers. We pray that we will be able to come in contact again with her soon! Interviews with President Stoker were on Thursday. He and his wife are so great. It was good to get to know them a little bit better. Sister Brown and I got a new investigator that has a farm! And we're totally helping her with her farm every Saturday now! I don't know why I have this weird obsession with farms now haha. They're just so cute and fun. She doesn't have any horses though.

Well, I think that's all for this week! Thank you all for the wonderful emails, I love them and you so much! I'm praying for each of you forever and always :) and I hope SC treats you well!!!

WITH ALL MY LOVE AND MORE,
Sister Brown

The NHMM

Hello family!!!!

This week was a good one. I was on exchange in Hanover with Sister Morgan and Sister Sowards (cause they are now a trio) on Tuesday. So Sister Fuller was here in Lebanon with Sister Brown. While in Hanover we got to help out at the Bulch Farm. They are a less-active family. It was so fun! We got to smash pumpkins and feed them to the cows. And there was the most beautiful sunset I've EVER seen! We were sad we didn't have our cameras with us :( We also got to try FRESH mozzarella cheese! It was a dream. While I was in Hanover Sister Fuller and Sister Brown taught Chelsi! She was the lady I told you about awhile ago who we helped move out of her house. They taught her in a member's home and said the Spirit was so strong there in the lesson. I'm sad I wasn't there, but so happy that it was such a good lesson. Sally, who we took to the Joseph Smith Memorial, is moving to Pennsylvania so we said goodbye to her this last week. We are also going to start helping out at a farm in our area! I'm really excited about that!

And the Relief Society Broadcast was SO GOOD! Loved it. I loved when President Monson said, "God's love is simply always there." He said some really profound things before that, but I only wrote fast enough to write that down :) It's just such a comforting feeling to me. To know that no matter what, through good or bad, God's love is there. I know that to be true. I love you all so much and hope you have the best of times in SC!! Give everyone there my heartfelt love! And send pics :)

I LOVE YOU FOREVER AND ALWAYS,
Sister Brown

FALL TIME!!

It's FALL!

Hello my sweet, lovely family!!!!

This week was pretty good. We're teaching a woman named Daisy Starkweather. What about that last name?! She lives down the street from us, which is AWESOME. She wants to be baptized, but she's living with her boyfriend of 18 years, who doesn't want to get married. We're hoping that his heart will change. Daisy came to church yesterday for the first time and said that it's different, but is definitely still wanting to learn :) We're happy that she had a good time there. We're still teaching Georgie and Artie, but haven't been able to see them lately because Georgie's grandma died :( and she's not wanting to see anyone. We hope that they will be strengthened through this hard time. Anne Marie is doing just as great as ever! Still her great, bubbly self :)

We went tracting yesterday and crashed a birthday party. This family was outside on their enclosed porch, which we didn't realize until we were at the door. No one said anything to us and it was super awkward. There was a banner that said "Happy Birthday" so Sister Brown just said, "We'll come back another time. And Happy Birthday!" No one even acknowledged us! It was too good. My description doesn't give it justice though.

I hope all of you are doing GREAT. From what I hear it sounds like everything is good. Y'all are going to South Carolina soon!!! That's going to be so much fun! Y'all have to tell me everything you do. And you have to go down that street we would always go down during the fall where they have Halloween decorations and scarecrows and stuff. It's gonna be such a good time!

I love you all so much and I pray for you EVERYDAY!! The Lord is watching over each of you :)

WITH ALL MY LOVE,
Sister Brown

I heart NH!

My dearest, sweetest, loveliest FAMILY!!!!

How I wish you could've been here on Saturday! It was a GREAT day. So Anne Marie got there and we took some pictures, she said she didn't sleep at all the night before because she was so excited! She is a crazy lady :) Anyway, after the pictures the program started. Her friend from work who introduced her to the gospel, Sister Crory, gave a talk. That was really sweet. And then we all went into the gym to see Anne Marie get baptized! It was so amazing. I feel like I keep saying that, but it really was! Sister Brown and I were talking to her in the bathroom while she was changing and she kept saying how she wished it could've lasted longer :) I agree, it goes by so fast! Then Sister Arnold gave a nice talk and there were the Welcomes and we ate food. It really did seem to fly by. Sister Brown and I are so glad that we were able to see her be baptized and then confirmed on Sunday. EVERYTHING WAS SO GOOD. Anne Marie said she thought everything was beautiful and wonderful :) She is such an amazing person and has so much faith! I truly look up to her.

Sister Brown and I ate lunch with Bro. and Sis. Wright this last week. They are so sweet! I feel like Sister Wright is our mom out here since she met you Mom :) She keeps telling us how nice and sweet you and Sister Brown's mom are. We all have fun together! Also I have to tell you that the movie marathon we did with Anne Marie was only mission approved videos of course! I didn't break the rules Dad! :) And you all will be surprised to hear that I ate venison steak last week. The couple killed it themselves.

Our district has been focusing a lot on the Atonement lately. I've loved studying it more and gaining better understanding. I read a talk on how the Atonement is not just for our sins, it's also for our inadequacies and shortcomings and EVERYTHING. A lot of the time I forget that.

I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH! I can't express my love for all of you in words. Keep having so much fun and know that I love you!! As does our Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ. I hope it is another good week for everyone!

LOVE ALWAYS,
Sister Brown

Anne Marie's BIG DAY

GOOD NEWS!

Hello my dear, sweet family!!!

Good news coming to y'all! Sister Brown and I are staying in Lebanon! WE ARE SO HAPPY!!! Also, I've realized that I write super lame emails, so I'm gonna try and be better at them :) Mom, I met Sister Wright! It's so funny that you met her before I did. She and her husband are really nice. She said I look just like you :) Which, of course, is a compliment!

Some more good news! Anne Marie is doing GREAT! And she is getting baptized this Saturday. I really don't know how Sister Brown and I could be so blessed to have Anne Marie in our lives. She decided last week that she's going to be coming to each of our weddings, whenever they may be, and of course, she's invited!! She is so sweet. We also met her mom. She is the cutest too. She is this tiny little French lady with the best accent. I love it! After Anne Marie's interview, Elder Wilson was asking her questions to fill out her record, she was talking and said, "These are my angels (pointing to us). And this is my big angel (patting Elder Wilson's back)." It was just too funny. She makes me laugh all the time. So Sister Brown and I are getting everything ready for her baptism on Saturday.

Thank you for all of your love and support. I REALLY could not do this without you. I care for you and I pray for you :) Until next week!

WITH ALL MY LOVE,Sister Brown

The district went for a SWEET hike : )

I made Sister Brown Stack Dinner!

LIFE IS GOOD

Hello my WONDERFUL family!!!!

This week was good. We went to the Joseph Smith Memorial with another of our investigators, Sally. That went well, although she somehow locked herself in the bathroom, so that wasn't good. We saved her though, don't worry :) We had a small movie marathon with Anne Marie and watched a lot of Church History videos. It was fun. We even had pizza, soda, and ice cream! Now that's what I call a real movie marathon! We had a great time with her. This could possibly be my last week in Lebanon because transfer calls are coming this weekend! Sister Brown and I are freaking out! We don't want to leave!! But I'll go or stay where the Lord needs me :)

I hope this email finds everyone well! I pray for each and every one of you morning and night. I know that this church is the true church and that Joseph Smith restored it here on the Earth. Going to the Joseph Smith Memorial has made my testimony grow leaps and bounds. I think that's the right saying :) I love you all and already CAN'T wait to hear from you again next week!

WITH ALL MY LOVE,
Sister Brown

Life is good!!

HELLO FAMILY!!!

This week was awesome! We went to the Joseph Smith Memorial with Anne Marie and Sister Crory (her friend that introduced us to her). It was such a wonderful experience! And Anne Marie loved it. Her new baptismal date is September 14! Right after Dad and Rhen's birthdays :) I really, really, really, really, really, really, hope that we're still here for it :) I know I say it every week, but Anne Marie is just so great! She even said that she has thought about serving a mission one of these days. How cool is that?! I just love her so much and wish y'all knew her.

OKAY. I forgot to tell you this story! A couple weeks ago we were walking to the Tinei's (a less-active family from the Marshall Islands) and a black fly (they're more annoying than mosquitoes and smaller) flew into my ear!!!!!! I was so scared! It was flying around in there and I had to interrupt Sister Tinei because I needed Sister Brown to get that fly out of my ear NOW! Haha. We were all laughing after it happened. I thought it was gonna lay baby black flies in there or something, but I haven't seen anything or felt anything in there haha. So just a fun story for ya :)

I love all of you so much!! This week I had such an overwhelming feeling of love from you and Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ while I was reading the scriptures. It was an amazing feeling and I hope I never forget it :)

LOVE-E-OH-SAW!!!!!!!

Love always,
Sister Brown

The sun is shining!!

MY FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW. Y'all have just been party people this week! Sounds like a ton of fun! Our new mission vision is to help the members have significant missionary experiences so Sister Brown and I have been spending some time with the GREAT members here.

It was Sister Brown's birthday on Saturday! Y'all know I showed her a good time :) I love birthdays! On her birthday we went to Anne Marie's and helped out in her garden and Anne Marie gave Sister Brown a card and cookies. Anne Marie is the cutest/sweetest/best person! She wasn't able to make it to church though because she broke her foot a while ago and it's been acting up lately. Georgie and Artie didn't make it either because Artie was out of town with her brother and Georgie's aunt got really sick this last week and she's having a hard time with it. We're hoping that everything is okay. We'll be seeing them tomorrow

The weather has been absolutely BEAUTIFUL this week!!! And a couple of the trees are already changing colors! It's so crazy. I can't wait for the fall and all of the pretty colors. I'll be sending some good pictures of that for sure. Well I love you all VERY MUCH. The love I feel from you keeps me going :) I hope it is a wonderful week for everyone!

Love always,
Sister Brown

I LOVE YOU ALL!

Hello Brown fam!!!!!!!!

The week was good. As I told you we taught the Stop Smoking Program to Anne Marie, but she did not successfully quit smoking. She is still getting baptized though! Just not on the 24th. I really hope I don't leave so I can be here when she is baptized! She is such a hoot! Georgie and Artie came to church, so that's awesome! We are meeting again with them tonight. We hope all goes well.

Sister Brown and I ate some wild boar with this family that LOVES hunting. They killed the wild boar themselves. They have dead animals all over the place! It's pretty crazy. I wish y'all could've seen it.

Also I didn't write yesterday because it was Zone Conference. So today is Pday. Zone Conference was at the Joseph Smith Memorial! I finally got to go! President Stoker and his wife are very nice!! It was good to get to know them a bit better. We'll also be going to the JSM with Anne Marie in a couple of weeks. I'm excited about that!

I know this church is true. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ know me and know all of you. Prayer is SO REAL, it's crazy. You just got to have faith :) I love you all so much, I can't handle it!! :) And Joe and Noelle, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Be looking in the mail for something. I LOVE Y'ALL.

Love forever and always,
Sister Brown

My sweet family!!!!!!!! Oh how I love you!!

This week has been good. We taught Anne Marie the Stop Smoking Program, so she is well on her way and we are SO EXCITED for her! I really do love her so much. She says that she wants to skype Sister Brown and I once we're home :) I wish y'all could meet her. We have two investigators, Georgie and Arite (they are a mother and daughter), who are fantastic as well. They both love reading so they were excited to get the Book of Mormon and some other pamphlets. We were excited to give them to them :) We'll see them again tomorrow and I'll let you know how it goes!

Also every Wednesday night we teach a Book of Mormon class with the Elders which we're really hoping is going to pick up. Georgie and Artie said they were going to come last week, but they didn't. Hopefully they will come this week :) Sis. Hastings (she has the super cool car) gave Sister Brown and I trims last week. I have to keep my hair healthy so it's really long by the time I get back! Thursday was another exchange to Hanover with Sister Morgan. That is where I saw the cows and horse. And every Saturday Sister Brown and I go to help Anne Marie weed and fix up her garden. It's a lot of fun. We like it.

Well family, that's it for this week. I want you to know that I know this church is true! The Atonement is real. Jesus Christ died for each of us individually! He knows exactly what we're going through and we can turn to Him. I love you all VERY MUCH!!!! Until next week.

LOVE, Sister Brown

We're staying in Lebanon Y'ALL!!

Hello my sweet family that I love so much!!!!

Sister Brown and I are staying in Lebanon! We are so happy :) This week was good. We taught Anne Marie with Sister Arnold a couple times. Sister Arnold is in the Relief Society Presidency here and has been SO helpful in giving us rides and coming to lessons with us. And she took Sister Brown and I to this ice cream place and we all got HUGE ice cream sundaes. I couldn't finish mine, but it was so yummy! Anne Marie is doing great. She is the best and so funny! Yesterday Brother Hatch (the Ward Mission Leader), Sister Arnold, and Sister Brown and I had lunch with her. Bro. Hatch made these super good, gourmet grilled cheese things with tomato soup. Sorry I'm talking about food a lot in this email haha. But they were so YUM! Anyway, Anne Marie was being so funny and speaking in French about the food. It reminded me of Dallin so much! All of you would love her! And when we were leaving she was saying goodbye to us in French and I was just LOVING it.

We've been helping a woman move out of her house. Her name is Chelsi and she has a 5-year-old daughter named Addi. Chelsi is great! Hopefully she doesn't move too far so we can continue to see her :) And we did a lot of weeding/gardening this week. When I come home I've decided to be a professional weeder :)

Well fam, I LOVE YOU! Thank you for EVERYTHING that you have done for me and are doing for me. It makes it a lot easier to be out here knowing that this is where you want me to be. I'm gonna leave you with this quote I found in the June Ensign. Remember, Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ LOVE you and KNOW you.

"There is nothing that we are enduring that Jesus does not understand, and He waits for us to go to our Heavenly Father in prayer. I testify that if we will be obedient and if we are diligent, our prayers will be answered, our problems will diminish, our fears will dissipate, light will come upon us, the darkness of despair will be dispersed, and we will be close to the Lord and feel of His love and of the comfort of the Holy Ghost." -Elder Robert D. Hales

And I love you too!!!

With all my love,
Sister Brown

Oh what a beautiful morning!

FAMILY!!!! I love you!!!!

It's funny that I say oh what a beautiful morning because it's raining right now :) I love it though. There was a really bad storm a couple nights ago that I slept right through (yay!). Our power and water was off for a good 12 hours. So no shower that day haha. ANYWAY. This week was fantastic! Anne Marie is doing GREAT. She does have a smoking problem, but she wants SO BADLY to stop. So we are doing our best to help her with that. Her baptismal date is August 24! Sister Brown and I are ecstatic. ------hello other brown family!! Sister brown-red here. I love you all!! You have a wonderful, beautiful, spectacular, fabtabulous, magnificent, magical, cute, loving , happy, delightful, special, heart warming, llama, funny, spiritual, touching, full of energy, go-get-'em daughter and I love her so much. thank you for sharing here with me X) thats all. bye.------ That's real. She stole the keyboard away from me! ------true that!------

The ward here is amazing! As you all know from The Work of Salvation broadcast, the First Presidency is really pushing for members to get involved with missionary work, and the ward here has been so good with that! That is how we started teaching Anne Marie, she is the best friend of a member. They are all so willing to help us, and we LOVE it.

Family, I LOVE YOU!!!!!! I'm praying for you and hope you all have a WONDERFUL week! Don't have too much fun without me, but have enough :) This gospel is true. I wouldn't be who I am today without it.

Loves, Sister Brown

MIRACLES HAPPEN ONCE IN AWHILE WHEN YOU BELIEVE!! (Princess Diaries :))

My dearest lovely, sweet, family!!!!

I've really got to get better at managing my time haha. I always only leave a little bit of time for the big email. GREAT things happened this week! We got four new investigators! Sister Brown and I had been struggling as you know, and we have been praying and fasted for miracles and they definitely happened! One of our investigators, Anne Marie, has already accepted the invitation to be baptized. She has definitely been prepared by the Lord. She is so sweet AND she came to church :) She called Sister Brown and I her "guardian angels". We meet with her again tomorrow.

Again, I'm so sorry this is short, but I do want you to know that THIS CHURCH IS TRUE. We taught Gospel Principles yesterday about The Atonement of Christ, and it was such a blessing. Although I was very nervous :) The Savior loves us and KNOWS us. And I love you so much too! I pray for you EVERYDAY :)

Holla from NH!

Hello everyone!!

I love you all! Thank you for all of the support and love and emails and letters :) THEY ROCK! We had our first baptism!! Just kidding, they were people that the Elders were teaching before we even got here, but we did go to their baptism. It was a dad and his nine-year-old daughter. It was VERY cool! A week ago on Sunday Sister Brown and I got to talk to the YW about missions and I loved that. YW's is where it's at! It was SO rainy this week. There was a lot of flooding in Lebanon, but that's a good 30 miles away from our apartment, so we're all good. It rains like it does in SC and I love it. All the memories of thunderstorms and the lights going out start rushing back :)

We went on exchanges this week and I ventured on over to Hanover area with Sister Morgan. She's GREAT. We went to Dartmouth and walked around there with some girls Sister Morgan and her companion are trying to teach. That was really cool. We also got to see AND HOLD one of the very first Book of Mormon's ever printed! That was awesome. On the 4th of July Sister Brown and I went to the ward party at Lake Sunapee. It was fun getting to know the members better and eating yummy food. Also there are hidden lakes everywhere here, and it ROCKS. They are so beautiful!

Saturday our zone got to officially meet President Stoker and his wife. They seem very nice and super excited about missionary work! We still don't have any investigators, but we are trying our hardest! We are really trying to activate the less-actives and that is going pretty well. We helped move in a new family from Arizona. They seem awesome.

Well family, I want you to know that I LOVE this gospel. I know that Heavenly Father knows us and loves us and wants us to be SO happy. Prayer is SUCH a real thing. I've never prayed so much in my whole life and never realized what a great thing it is. The Book of Mormon is literally the word of God. I've grown such a love for it as well over this last month.

I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!

Sister Brown

P.S. They call me Sister Brown-Horse. It's pretty funny haha.

This is at Dartmouth College and it's one of the very first Book of Mormon's ever printed!!!

The Sisters in our district : ) They rock!
